Frankly, a disgusting number of politicians (both past and present) want to settle our East and Southeast border disputes on an unsatisfying manner for the country. These territories account for about 5% of Argentina's 3.000.000 km2 land and also control the entry to and from the Atlantic, the Beagle Pass and Antarctica.
One of these territories was actually given back to Argentina in an official ceremony by the occupation power and then placed again on THEIR claim list *facepalms*.
