Still looking forward to this new game of Mario & Luigi coming out, though not got a pre-order in just yet. Hope if there's a general Direct between now and release with show a little bit more but should already be enough for me to get it.
Mario & Luigi Superstar Saga, Bowser's Inside Story and the 3DS Superstar Saga were the only ones from the series I played. Partners In Time didn't really interest me at the time and never bothered with it, Dream Team came out when I wasn't playing my 3DS as much or at least not on Mario games. Paper Jam I had a little more interest than those two but ultimately I never got it.
The 3DS version of Bowser's Inside Story, though I enjoyed the first version a lot, I just didn't really desire it. The only reason 3DS Superstar Saga grabbed me was because I considered SS among the top games I've played, very close to PM:TTYD in fact. That being said though I didn't get far in the remake despite loving the new songs, then just stopped playing 3DS for a while, which must've been in 2019 sometime as a post in Last Game Played I had noted. What?! That was so long ago man, I need to play it again! Huh, likewise with Switch PM:TTYD I also haven't played for a while either. Geez, I'm bad at this.
Just wanna show my SS love though, that game had me hooked for a good while, loved everything about it. Cackletta was a great villain along with Fawful and remember the Cackletta Spirit final battle took me ages to beat in my first playthrough. The music in that fight really set the mood and hyped me up. I've not heard the 3DS version yet and I'll look forward to it when I actually play the game again and get there.

I didn't really know anything about the series nor seen any gameplay of the existing games, but recently a streamer I follow was playing through Superstar Saga and what I saw of it makes me really want to play it. I know it's on NSO+EX but I don't know if I wanna pay for that upgrade just for one game so I might just look into emulating it.

What I played of the Mari and Luigi rpgs, this game looks super stylized. I sort of wonder who the studio is now doing the Mario/Luigi games now. Honestly, I like the Paper Mario series better and felt like the Mario/Luigi games is what kept the Paper Mario ones from having different special characters.
I don't know how I feel about this series making its return, I was kinda happy to let it die so that the Paper Mario series could grow and thrive. I guess that was kind of a pipe dream in the end though.

Nintendo has notably been very hush-hush about who they have developing this game, which is quite odd, but has me thinking they've just got some EAD team putting it together, which can be pretty good. It's possible they've hired on some of the dissolved team at AlphaDream to produce this. It definitely has the charm and the ideology behind a lot of Alpha's designs.

Nice little look at the islands, almost feels like it's a kind of holiday the bro's are on.
As there was no battle gameplay in there I rewatched the Direct video and noticed the second bar represented with a shell. I guess it's just the Bro Attack bar or whatever it was called before, as they use a shell in the featured Bro attack in there. At first I was wondering if there was going to be a Defense bar that protects them for a bit making them take less damage, but makes more sense being the Bro Attack points.

Another trailer from a few days ago that focuses on the battle mechanics. Nothing new it seems, but I guess these smaller videos are just trying to keep the game in peoples minds while new details will probably be saved for closer to release when marketing will really ramp up.
@ queenzelda: I get the feeling Nintendo is looking to bring both this and Paper Mario back, and the only thing that would be guaranteed to hinder future efforts on either front would be if sales are bad.

Yeah wasn't a lot there, some more of the Bro Attacks, and seems you can still mess them up obviously like in the other games when you fail the inputs, haha. Liking the reactions from Mario and Luigi there.

@ Moonface Eh, I'll still get the newest Mario and Luigi RPG title. I loved the 3DS titles a lot. I just thought Nintendo let it die off when the studio that made them went belly up was all. I guess they're just didn't want to let it die. So, I'll give it a go. Still looks pretty good to me. :3

Mario & Luigi: Brothership | Overview Trailer

Still looks pretty good to me. :3 I feel like Nintendo have been trying to breathe new life into some of their older or variant IP over this current generation. - Metroid was rather stagnant after 2010 but from 2021-2025 we'll have got brand new entries in both the 2D and 3D sides of that series.
- Zelda has had as many new top-down entries on the Switch as it's had 3D entries, but with how successful BotW was nobody could be blamed for worrying that the series was going to only focus on that style of gameplay going forward prior to Link's Awakening, Echoes of Wisdom, and the series director themselves saying they like the two styles co-existing.
- Kirby got its first fully 3D game on the Switch, and although they haven't been brand new entries there have still been multiple releases of 2D-style Kirby games on the Switch which hopefully indicates Nintendo won't move Kirby to being just 3D.
The variant styles are also just a good idea because generally they're not going to require as much time and work compared to the 3D entries. In the case of Mario, I'd rather see more side games that aren't sport titles or yet another by-the-numbers 2D Super Mario Bros. game, and it helps Nintendo branch out further into other genres. Heck, bringing back Mario RPG-style entries might even help boost Nintendo's other RPG's if people check out the former because it has Mario, find they like the gameplay and start looking at other Nintendo RPG's they may have otherwise written off.

What I like about this is how the islands seem connected. Like you can just use the cannon to blast over to one area and when you find a new section, you can go there. Also traversal looks really neat with the bro powers, but it was always like that in the Mario & Luigi games were certain powers would get you to certain area's. So that seems the same, the only thing different is that now your fighting robots and Bowser now. Should be interesting to see how the story plays out.

So because copies of this game have released early into the wild, it means that those with a copy are able to view the credits and copyright information on the game cartridge and reveal that Brothership is co-developed by Acquire, who have also co-developed both Octopath Traveler games and were the sole developer for Tenchu and Way of the Samurai games.
Whoever else developed it will probably remain unknown because Nintendo don't name any specific development branch in the credits or copyright it seems. Still, Acquire working on this makes me hopeful for this to be a really good RPG.
In other news, a new almost-20-minute gameplay video was uploaded by Nintendo Life today. I haven't watched any yet to know if it's all stuff we've seen before or not but I do at least know there is footage of multiple boss battles in it somewhere.

I bought this game yesterday. So far, it's a lot like the 3DS games, but when you control Luigi in a battle you use the A button and not B. RUDE. They forgot about using the B button for our boy. D:

They stopped locking Luigi to B?! Blasphemous! Not acceptable, how can I play this now?!
Darn I actually forgot it released today. I knew I should've went to the tech area of my store (will separate store to the main supermarket), to check if Brothership was in there as I didn't pre-order.
