Hades II | Technical Test Gameplay
With the recent announcement of the Technical Test for Hades II before the game enters Early Access, the developers did a live stream today showing seven runs in the current state of the game.

Not sure if I'll watch any of it yet but wanted to put this here for anyone who does want to see some early gameplay.

Hades II is now available in Early Access on Steam and the Epic Game Store:



Hades II is expected to be in Early Access for the entirety of 2024.

I find it really intriguing that we'll apparently be going down and up in this game, and I've been glancing periodically at gameplay by streamers I follow on Twitch to avoid spoiling too much of the game for myself but the few things I've seen look really cool!

One thing I have noticed is there doesn't seem to be a death defy in this game, unless it hasn't been added or requires an unlock nobody has got yet. If it's going to be single life runs that makes me curious about how different the game will be to Hades I because that game without death defy would be a real ball ache.

This looks fantastic. I've seen a fair share of content from the EA build so far, and it looks like an absolute blast. I definitely wanna give the OG game a go myself now that I have time for it.

For anyone interested the currently completed Hades II OST has been put onto Spotify. I just went looking out of curiosity.

This game makes me wish consoles could do Early Access because I'd love to play this but my laptop won't run it and even if it could I'd still rather get to see this game on the TV. Then again it stops me getting potentially burned out before the full release by playing too much of the EA.

The OST though... that's a now thing

I still need to beat the first game but man, I just finished season 2 of Blood of Zeus on Netflix and I'm on a greek mythology kick. I want this game.

How far into the first game did you get Eric? By that I guess I mean how many runs did you beat, if you can recall? I think it's seven victories in total to reach the credits sequence.

Hades II | The Warsong Update
The second major update for Hades II is live, featuring all-new encounters at the end of the surface route, the arrival of violence-loving Ares, updates to Arcana and resource collection, and much more!



This update adds the following content:

• Are you prepared for the Final Confrontation on the surface? Discover what lies beyond the Guardian of Olympus... if you dare!
  
• Meet Ares, the infamous god of war! Gain his varied and vicious Boons to see if you can satisfy his thirst for blood.
  
• Meditate at the updated Altar of Ashes, featuring all-new art and several reworked Arcana effects! Many other menu screens are also improved.
  
• Bond with a new Animal Familiar, who will help keep you out of harm's way! See if you can recruit all five Familiars to your cause.
  
• Why not sing a duet in the Crossroads as you rest up from a hard night? Look for other new details and interactions!
  
• Delve deeper into the story, with more than 2,000 new voice lines and new events with most of the game's cast!

As a reminder, Hades II is still in Early Access. The developers have noted that it is still too early to share or determine when v1.0 will launch; however, this is partly due to the fact a third major update is already in the works and is expected to arrive in some months from now!

I haven't seen or heard anything about this game since shortly after it entered Early Access, mostly because I don't want to spoil myself too much. I don't mind getting a taste of things with update notes like this though, and it's fun to see stuff like the farming in the trailer and wonder to myself what that's all about.
