Yoshi (Series) | New Game Announced

From my post in UCT, this is what I was referring to. A great construction piece promoting Crafted World. Looks sweet! Wish I could get a photo of it but this is just as good.

So far I have to say that Yoshi's Crafted World is so much better then the yarn title. It's a lot more creative & even if some levels reminds me of lvls from LBP it's much improved impo.

As I've said many times on here already, Yoshi's Island for the SNES was the first game I ever beat.

All these years later I haven't really picked any of the other titles up since then.

I am however trying to get my (girl) friend to buy the latest one; Crafted World for me for Christmas.

The first time I saw the trailer it made me think, 'babies first yoshi game' haha. Maybe over time there will be more gameplay shown but atmo, I'm sort of disappointed really.

I'm happy. Largely because they decided to fully commit to the "we want Yoshi as our entry-level IP" and very particularly not attach it to old/classic Yoshi's Island mechanics. It just always wound up being this weird dichotomy of trying to balance challenging platforming/collecting with their cute and innocent overlay. It was not working and arguably hasn't worked in several years, which is very unfortunate.

I do hope that with this, they'll also consider making a harder, separate challenge at some point. Just... stop trying to make both happen at once. It turns into this really half-baked attempt at something that pleases a very low common denominator audience.

Idk, I keep getting this feeling that there will be some areas where you will have to puzzle through a boss (or a few monsters) but it could just be my misinterpreting seeing a character with a bulging belly button...

I have the feeling Nintendo view Kirby as the harder alternative for people, going by the impression I get from people of those games being more challenging than one would expect going in.
