About the heavy stuff, it's calmed down a bit, there was a mental breakdown not by me going on and other stuff, just took a toll on me. Just want the rest of this year to ride out more easy because 2025 is definitely going to be a busier year.
The most I'm doing at work is 10 hours and that's two days coming up I'm scheduled for (this Saturday then Monday), 9 hours Tuesday, 8 tomorrow and Sunday. Our stock has most certainly come in, and there's price wars going on between the big stores competing to get the lowest priced veg, we were meant to bring down to 15p but then price war happened, and we got it all put down to 8p for the carrots, broccoli, sprouts, parsnips and one type of potato. Peeps be annoyed at the other potatoes being so much than the 8p ones, I bet we're going to have problems shifting that stuff. Because my manager is an imbecile and ordered a 900 case truck where he thinks we'll sell 400+ units of Cool Whip in a week when it isn't even going on a good deal so half my time was spent having to sort through all the shit. I doubt I'll get that all sold before 2025 even rolls around.
Glad to hear whatever is going on calmed down a bit.
Now I'm curious how much that stuff usually is, and whether or not the stores are all going to shoot themselves in the foot doing that when customers start to have the impression the prices can always be that low if the stores can seemingly do it now without an issue. I'd love to know what the losses end up being between the reduced priced veg and the inevitable higher priced veg being thrown out from going bad when nobody buys it.

Ah got to love it how stores/managers orders way too much, especially something like a single product that just won't sell. How long does Cool Whip last by it's expiration date? They even do it with short expiration, just why?
I've forgotten most of them already, I just don't memorise them out of hours, I at least know 1kg carrots were in the 65-69p range as it was going up and down prior to the big reduction. They ordered in too many 500g carrots that don't go down unless it's forced by a manager later, so today when I saw my colleagues when shopping, they had people complain about the 500g carrots and the other potatoes that were full price, which some of them are like 12x2 or so trays high in the warehouse. So yeah I'm expecting waste, just don't know how much at the end of it all, there's already loads from reduced dates as other items had masses in for singular days for no reason that have already been and gone. Going to be fun these next few days.

If warehouse have bothered to date rotate correctly it should last until 2026, but I have had frozen product turn up already out of date before or with less than 3 months on it before.
I read more about that price war thing; I didn't know it had been a yearly thing since 2014 because Tesco first did it to try and save themselves from debt and saw massive success from it. Ever since then it's practically guaranteed to occur every year and all the grocery stores plan for it as part of their yearly budgets.
I forgot to mention this in my last post, but I've been suffering with a headache/migraine constantly since I left work on Tuesday. I thought it had finally gone away last night but it came back today, so most of my day has been again spent concussed on the couch.

Very stressful... I've had two major projects to work on at work, as well as investigating an urgent bug (that doesn't even occur on my test system) and helping others with their own work.
Though, on a happier note, I did take today off work, to see my girlfriend. We went to see Wicked, which I quite enjoyed - although now I have to wait for Part 2 to come out to see how it ends. And we did swap Christmas presents, which was rather important!
